Our organization showcases a variety of unique puppetry experiments, organized into several main categories.
The string puppetry showcases numerous themes, such as the Sita abduction scene from the Ramayana, and Ekalavya's devotion to his guru from the Mahabharata, as well as current social scenarios and scientific backgrounds of folk traditions. It includes performances on environmental protection through the tale of Plasticasura, Sangolli Rayanna, Bhakta Kanakadasa, COVID-19 awareness, and themes of patriotism like the life of Swami Vivekananda. The string puppetry also addresses the contributions of the Sharanas (devotees) to society and includes educational lessons on various subjects.
In rod puppetry, performances such as "The Boy Who Shared Light," which conveys the teachings of Gautama Buddha, and a show inspired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideals, have been performed, including at Amarkantak University in Madhya Pradesh. This type of puppetry presents themes of national unity and the importance of tolerance, portraying scenes from the Mahabharata and historical events. Additionally, rod puppetry brings awareness on topics like COVID-19, eradicating addictions, prevention of child marriage, and personality development.
In stick puppetry, popular tales like Karnataka’s symbolic story of Punyakoti, and the tale of the Clever Fox are enacted. Animal stories like "The Monkey and the Crocodile" and "The Crane and the Crow" introduce children to various birds and animals, creating a captivating experience through stick puppetry.
Through hand puppets, various programs are presented, primarily focusing on global warming, environmental protection, and introducing children to environmental themes. Topics on bird and animal life, as well as dialogues in English language learning, are also presented with hand puppets.
Shadow puppetry includes environmental awareness themes. It encourages children to learn basic arithmetic operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and the formation of words. Shadow puppetry is also used to introduce topics like birds, animals, flowers, plants, trees, vegetables, and fruits, fostering a love of nature among children.
For entertaining children, finger puppets are used in which multiple puppets are placed on one hand, creating engaging dialogues. Through this medium, children are taught basic skills such as number writing, foundational math operations, and word formation from letters. They are also introduced to birds, animals, flowers, plants, vegetables, and fruits, enhancing their understanding of the natural world.
